Collesi Aged Montepulciano Grappa

This rare Montepulciano (the grape, not the town) grappa starts with Marche marc. Collesi prefer the discontinuous steam bain-marie method of distillation. From there, the grappa is aged for five years in small oak barrels. 

This long ageing imparts a warm amber colour and a smoothness on the palate. Initial hints of caramel give way to red fruits with earthy and spicey end notes. The fruit accents are long lasting and complex.
