Mazzetti Riserva Segni - Dolcetto & Barolo

There is grappa, and then there is this. Segni is carefully aged over five years. The grappa is transferred progressively into six different barrels of descending capacity from 100 down to only 10 litres. In addition, each barrel is from different wood - oak, chestnut, ash, cherrywood, mulberry and juniper. 

After five years of ageing the body is exceptional as expected, but what can only be tasted, and not imagined, is the scent of cherry, mulberry, vanilla and aromatic herbs that this patient and curated ageing imparts. 

Perfect for sipping as a digestive, or pair with almonds, marzipan and dark chocolate.
